Hello Syd,
Just a quick note to let you know that Mums face when she opened her present was priceless - she cried. Memories that she thought that she'd forgotten came flooding back - it was like going back in time.
Mum remembers you!!!!!!! but she thinks that you were a few years older.
Mum said that it is the best present she has ever received!!!
Thanks again - you made her day.

Many many thanks for the book Eastcote Lane Early days, you have both done a superb job, of recreating for us, some of ourmemories of Eastcote Lane School, and it is our sincere hope others will enjoying reading about their days at the School. EastcoteLane School was from the day it opened, until today a place of learning, and for many of us, a start to a very successful life, again we thank you for all your time and efforts,

Comment: Thanks Syd for producing such a wonderful book entitled Eastcote Lane "The Early Years". I am sure Joy and yourself must have worked very hard over the past year to finalise it to such a high degree of perfection. It most certainly brought back manymemories, especially of the war years. Well done!
Cliff

Thanks for the book, Syd : obviously a labour of love - and wonderful that you have done it! I was also touched and interested to see the actual details of the physical make-up of the project.......it makes one realize the actual WORK involved. You have done us all a great service. Apart from my myself, my father and my two children also went to the school - under its various names from 1933 through to the late 80s!

Hi Syd,
Received the books today.
They are so great, and all the more special that you have produced them all yourself.
I looked for my Dad in the pictures, but don't think I would recognise him at that early age.
No doubt you will hear from him, after Christmas. Have sent my uncle the other one as a present.
Thanks so much again,
Julie

Many thanks for the book. I enjoyed looking back on my time spent at Eastcote Lane. Joyce

Hi Syd,
Just to let you know that the book has arrived safely and intact. I can't wait to see Mums face at Christmas - I will let you know how it went. I might buy one for my Auntie who lives in Shropshire (mums sister who also went to Eastcote lane) I will let you know.

Syd,
I commend your efforts at reprinting this book, it brought back many memories
The fact this previously closed detail is now available to a wider audience is fantastic, I am the Archivist for the oldest youth group in the Borough and get immense enjoyment from recording social history for future generations to learn from.
